Why it has become silent with Nova - many websites have closed, disappeared or stopped service by technical or financial reasons, my website here ist still there. There has not been much new content from me or others in the past months - but as a part of the communitity it still keeps the flag game up a little. Since quite some time www.dfbarracks.com seems to be down. You can see various directories but no single site nor file from the database. After they lost so much content with their past db crashes, lack of maintance and administration, beein offline for months, it takes a hardcore fan to keep their url in the list. In the end the mods, who where not monitored by some sort of board of the website, seem to have gotten drunk and pissed off any remaining vistitors, by insulting them with crap. But hey , who knows ? Maybe it wasn´t even them - the good ol mods ! Maybe it was one of the many hackers, who cracked the site over and over again ? Then took over their identity and posted AS THEM ? Anything is possible at dfb right. How low can you go ? Novalogic ist doing not to good either. For years now the new forum remains "beta". In a cenury where any horse can set up a free out-of-the-box-forum, Nova makes a UN nation building mission out of it. But only if there IS a novaworld II forum AT ALL. Which ist not standard in these days. Servers are beein moved over and over again. With the minimal service remaining, the virtual server for the novalogic games should now fit into a Tamagotichi CPU. If you read their website through, you could even start to cry. Links as old as 5 years in their list, that´would´n´t be so bad if only they worked. A good part has gone offline for years. They good news is that, there must still be people working at or for Nova, otherwise, they could not permanently please us with new marketing banners und launch their games converted to console systems. Honestly, if they are working on a new games and it is good, noone will come later and complain about the lack of communication. If the game is good any one wnats it anyway. You can stay out there without the greatest shooter game on the planet, if you prefer. See? That is why they care a fuck about what users say. www.nova-inside.com has changed the owner and Atomic seems to leave the scene. At least one website that seems to be up and running and has always been stable so far. I did like the mapdatabase from them, both as a mapper and as as user as well, because you can upload quite without complications and fast. Since some mappers from the Nova-inside community have posted their maps there, some are uniqely found over there. I think it is a very good source if you want to have access to a large number of solid maps I also visisted www.hardmaps.com and the site is still running and has a living small active usership. HMs Maps are played all over Novaworld, and if you are looking for them, they are mostly - good to very good - Check them out and visits their database. You also find some loney left mappers from time to time. As for this site here, I think about a relaunch. I have another system in mind, that will help me reduce maintance and supply you with fresh content more easy. I am still not through with mapping, but first I have some undone paid jobs to serve first and secondy I avoid doing the same things. Now it has become bit different to show something new in a map. I have some prototype maps for urban enviroment for ESC and Reality It is simply GE´s City2 and I will link the map later, becaus eit is not it the database yet but was once earlier published on vanished www.deltaforcebarracks.com . If you want to support the community, but don´t know how, register and stay silent or not, donate some or upload your maps. Finger still on the trigger, GE Here are some screenshots from the map GE´s City2: |
